Savannah’s Historic District was designed for walking. Twenty-two shaded squares, live oaks draped in Spanish moss, cobblestones along the riverfront, all of it on a leash-friendly grid that General James Oglethorpe laid out in 1733. The Ann Savannah sits inside that grid, and its apartment-style suites were built for stays that feel like living here, not just passing through. Pets are welcome.

What You Need to Know

Pet Policy

Register your pet at the front desk on arrival. A $100 non-refundable pet fee applies to every stay, and the pet-in-room tassel goes on your door whenever your pet is inside. Quiet hours run from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No weight limits, no breed restrictions, no small print.

Space That Actually Works for Pets

Suites

The Ann’s two- and four-bedroom loft suites give pets and people enough space to coexist comfortably. A full kitchen means you can feed yourself and your dog without leaving the suite. In-suite laundry takes care of towels, blankets, and everything a wet dog brings back from Forsyth Park. There’s a living area, a dedicated sleeping space, and room for a bed or a crate that isn’t also where you’re sitting. Apartment-style accommodations were built for this kind of stay.

Out the Door and Into the Grid

Walking Routes

Forsyth Park is one mile south — 22 minutes on foot through Chippewa Square and down Bull Street, fountain spray audible before you arrive, grass wide and shaded. River Street runs 0.3 miles north, eight minutes on foot: cobblestones, the Savannah River, ships passing close enough to watch. Oglethorpe’s grid means nearly every block turns up a square with shade and somewhere to sit. Complimentary bikes are available from the front desk, first come, first served.

Dining

Collins Quarter at 621 Drayton Street sits at the edge of Forsyth Park; the barista at the walk-up window keeps biscuits for dogs. The Olde Pink House (23 Abercorn Street) opens its outdoor terrace to well-behaved pets. J. Christopher’s on East Liberty Street runs a dedicated dog menu alongside brunch. And Little James, The Ann’s own Mediterranean-inflected cafe and bar, a natural first and last stop of any walk, is open daily from 7 AM to 10 PM at ground level.

A Week Here Is Better Than a Weekend

Extended Stay

Longer stays suit pets better than short ones. A week at The Ann means your dog builds a routine: the same morning walk through the squares, the same bench by the Forsyth fountain. The apartment-style format — full kitchen, in-suite laundry, a living area to decompress in — makes that rhythm possible. If you’re in Savannah for a SCAD semester, a film project, or a family occasion that runs longer than a long weekend, ask about extended-stay rates.
